Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District is strengthening its commitment to training, safety, and service for the coastal community today. Division Chief of Training Jeremy Neel recently represented NRFPD at the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) International in Indianapolis, soaking in the latest tactics, rescue methods, firefighter health, and leadership insights from more than 35,000 professionals across 55 countries. Back home, NRFPD has elevated its training program to roughly 500 hours annually across its six fire stations, with formalized Independent Performance Standards and Company Performance Standards to guarantee consistency in what responders do, even when teams change. The district is expanding safety and compliance through partnerships with the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) and OSHA, while aligning with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards used nationwide. District leaders say continuous learning and modern equipment are essential to protect both firefighters and the public.
