Firefighters from surrounding county municipal fire departments joined a joint training exercise hosted by the 130th Airlift Wing Fire Department at McLaughlin Air National Guard Base in Charleston, West Virginia. They waited in an Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting vehicle for an incoming C-130 Hercules before resuming live-fire suppression training on a burn pad.
The exercise aimed to share equipment, enhance interoperability, and strengthen community partnerships through hands-on scenarios with local first responders. The event took place on Sept. 17, 2026. Photo credit: U.S. Air National Guard, Staff Sgt. Alancea Grant.
