Yavapai County, Arizona — The Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) is approved to offer GI Bill benefits to eligible veterans through on-the-job training programs. CAFMA Fire Chief John Feddema says the approval creates a clear pathway for veterans to continue serving while building a rewarding career with CAFMA.
Participants may be eligible to receive GI Bill benefits while completing approved training and earning a competitive salary and benefits package.
Applications for entry-level firefighters are expected to open in autumn 2026. Applicants must have EMT and CPR certifications, a valid CPAT, and a driver’s license, and may apply online at cazfire.gov when recruitment begins. Veterans can learn more at cazfire.gov.
