Nineteen new firefighters graduated from the Montgomery Fire/Rescue Training Program, a 20-week course. A ceremony was held this week at Vaughn Forest Church to honor the graduates.
The training began in March with a 12-week EMT Basic National Registry course, followed by eight weeks focused on fire suppression. The suppression phase covered fire behavior, tactical operations, equipment handling and live burn exercises, preparing recruits for the physical and technical demands of real-world firefighting. The graduates will be assigned to stations across Montgomery to apply their training and support the department’s mission of protecting lives and property.
