Paul Machunksi of Lakeville was among 20 firefighters who graduated July 31 from the 50-day Career Recruit Firefighting Training Program.
The graduation was announced by State Fire Marshal Jon M. Davine and Massachusetts Firefighting Academy leadership.
Graduates train for hundreds of hours to gain physical, mental, and technical skills needed for safe performance in the field.
The BW40 class represents Lakeville and other departments, with training beginning in non-fire conditions and culminating in controlled fire scenarios.
Upon completion, graduates meet NFPA 1010 standards and are certified Firefighter I/II and Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations by the Massachusetts Fire Training Council.
