The Tyrrell Volunteer Fire Department recently participated in agricultural rescue training, with crews completing the session on Thursday night.
Firefighters practiced skills designed to help them respond to emergencies involving agricultural equipment and rural rescue situations. Officials noted hot conditions during the training, but crews gained valuable hands-on experience.
The exercise was described as sharpening rescue skills and preparing firefighters for emergencies they could encounter in the community, in Tyrrell County.
