The department uses configurable Connex facilities and training props to vary layout, routes, and buildings, enabling repeated evolutions for about 1,200 participants per cycle. Training teams include two live-burn instructors, a safety officer and four instructors, with rooms built and victims placed for repeatable scenarios. A partnership with Central Piedmont Community College funds consumables and supports layout changes. Instructors emphasize performance, post-incident reviews, and constructive feedback.
