Three new firefighters and paramedics — Tyler Chapman, Olivia Fraini and Carlos Menchaca — have completed recruit training and are expected to begin responding to emergency calls in Sudbury. They graduated Friday from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Recruit Training Program after 10 weeks of instruction.
The Sudbury Fire Department said the graduates will work alongside other Sudbury firefighters and paramedics. The Massachusetts Firefighting Academy provides training for municipal fire service personnel.
Recruit training encompassed classroom work, physical fitness, firefighter skills training and live firefighting practice. Graduates must demonstrate proficiency in life safety, search and rescue, ladder operations, water supply, pump operation and fire attack.
