An apparent blaze on the 3300 block of Fourth Avenue in Huntington was actually a training exercise on Wednesday.
The Huntington Fire Department partnered with the West Virginia chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators to provide a hands-on approach to fighting fires.
The training is described as impactful because it gives students the skills they need to help save lives during a real fire.
Officials said the public was never in danger during the exercise.
