Selah Fire Department and Yakima County Fire District 2 have been awarded a grant of $1,024,848 through the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation to fund a new fire training facility for hands-on training.
The facility will support live-fire structural firefighting, search and rescue, ventilation, forcible entry, hose operations, aerial apparatus operations, firefighter support training, and incident command scenarios.
It will provide the structure for essential training for Selah Fire Department and Yakima Training Center personnel, enable regional and multi-agency training with other firefighting agencies in Yakima County, and supply infrastructure to support the Yakima Training Center.
