West Orange Fire Department partnered with University Hospital to provide advanced medical training through an Assistance to Firefighters Grant awarded to the department over the past 18 months. Communications officer Joseph Fagan shared details, noting the grant-funded program provides classroom instruction and hands-on training.
The curriculum covers behavioral health, stroke recognition, trauma care, and bleeding control emergencies, enhancing firefighters' knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality emergency medical care when every second counts.
