The Beverly Hills Unified School District and the Beverly Hills Fire Department conducted an emergency response training exercise on August 2 at BHUSD’s Lasky Building. The exercise, held while students were away, let firefighters train in a school setting using realistic scenarios. Activities included simulated fire and smoke conditions, search and rescue operations, hose and ladder deployment, ventilation procedures and incident command coordination.
District officials said access to school facilities helps first responders become familiar with building layouts, entrances and operational conditions before an emergency occurs. The training is part of BHUSD’s ongoing collaboration with Beverly Hills public safety agencies to strengthen campus preparedness.
Notifications were coordinated with nearby residents about emergency vehicles and non-toxic training smoke.
