Firefighters across Hillsdale County, Michigan, received additional training through the Gary Sinise Foundation’s First Responder Outreach Program. The instruction emphasized the fundamentals of fire attack, including hose handling and the latest research in fire suppression, with trainers from outside Michigan leading the sessions.
Blasetti called the dedication "a very humbling experience" and noted the local firefighters' eagerness to learn. The program also shared a home fire safety recommendation: close bedroom doors before going to sleep. Along with smoke alarms, a closed door can slow fire and smoke spread, giving responders more time to act.
