A rural fire protection district in Jersey County has opened registration for IgniteHER, a women's firefighting training program in September. The program is organized by the QEM Fire Protection District and is open to women and girls ages 16 to 45. No prior experience is required. Participants will experience what it’s like to be a firefighter for the weekend, wearing turnout gear and learning firefighting tactics. Spots are limited, and the event is open to Jersey County residents and surrounding areas. The three-day training runs 5–9 p.m. Sept. 25, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Sept. 26, and 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Sept. 27; registration at bit.ly/4b9neOC.
