Forest Service trainers conducted wildland firefighter training at a military installation in Washington. The program trains Department of Defense personnel in wildland firefighting techniques to support a national wildfire response if requested. A service member completed the course and received a certificate from the training cadre.
The Forest Service regularly trains DoD personnel in wildland firefighting techniques in the event that assistance is requested as part of the national response to wildfires or other emergencies.
