OSWEGO — The City of Oswego is hosting the 2026 Port City Fire Conference, a regional training event designed to elevate fire service knowledge and coordination. Set for Hewitt Hall at SUNY Oswego on Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, the conference brings together firefighters and officers from across the region for three focused sessions and networking opportunities. Organizers say the program emphasizes practical, hands-on instruction and peer-to-peer learning, strengthening response capabilities countywide. The lineup features three sessions led by noted instructors: Nick Martin on Combat Ready Firefighting, Curt Isakson on Tactics Put Out Fires, and Mark VonAppen on Fully Involved Leadership. Doors open at 7:30am each day, with lunch provided on Saturday and refreshments throughout. Registration is $150 and includes access to all sessions. The Oswego Fire Department and SUNY Oswego partnership highlights the conference’s value in building partnerships and better protecting communities nationwide.
